My Brilliant Career
Last Updated: Wednesday, 19-Jun-2002 10:05:36 EDT
I took up fiddle playing in college, around Christmas 1978. Since then I
have concentrated on the fiddle and hardly ever play guitar or mandolin
anymore. I messed around with the banjo for a while but decided the fiddle
was demanding enough that I should devote most of my effort to it.
I've played for dances pretty much all over the place. Here is a short list
of some of the places I've been.
Festivals:
- Albany (N.Y.) Dance Flurry
- Almost Heaven Dance Festival (West Virginia)
- American Buffalo Dance Weekend (West Virginia)
- Black Mountain Festival (North Carolina)

But what has he done lately?
These days I mostly appear as approximately one half of the duo
Bo & Craig , sometimes known as "Adam's Housecat." Lately the
rigors of being a duo have begun to mount,
so we now include a bass player whenever possible. We have found that
by splitting the work of a duo 3 ways, things are much easier.
Don't count the
Greenfield Dance Band out, though. That dog'll still hunt
given the chance.
My recordings are The Belle of
Brattleboro with Mary Cay Brass and
Moving Clouds with Pete Jung.

That's enough for now. By the time you've gone and found records by all of
them I'll have changed the list. If you like reading about
fiddling check out: Fiddler Magazine.
If you really want to go back in time, I used to play trombone. All
through high school I played in marching band and dance band. The dance band
was cool. We played for dances all over the place, at country clubs and such.
I also went on a few tours with the School Band of
America. (Europe '73, Western US '72, Jr Hi SBA '70)
If you came here from the list of favorite
records, here's your return ticket.
